About Wartling
Wartling near Hailsham and Bexhill in East Sussex, is a civil parish and village, which includes Boreham Street. The village is recorded in the Domesday Book and the present-day Anglican church was constructed in the 13th century, possibly on the site of a former chapel. The local economy was founded on the Wealden iron industry. Of special note, is the RAF base known as RAF Wartling. The base was used in the Second World War and in the Cold War era, supporting the work at RAF Pevensey’s Chain Home Station.
