About Ridgewood
Ridgewood is a pretty village near Uckfield in Wealden District, East Sussex. Famous for a former pottery industry, workers fired various ceramic items on behalf of Wares Potteries until 1963. A clay quarry was constructed to serve the factory, dug at the 100-acre Uckfield Millennium Green, which is one of the biggest in the country. The quarry was worked in the green. Ridgewood today contains a number of nursing homes and care centres for the diables. Villagers enjoy interacting with each other in a couple of local pubs and diverse activities at the community hall.
