About Billingshurst
Billingshurst is a respectable village in West Sussex, within the district of Horsham. The origins of Billingshurst’s name are rather curious. It is a name stemming from the Anglo Saxon phrase, ‘Billinges hyrst’, which means ‘Billa’s son’s wooded hill’. The Weald School – Billingshurst Primary School enjoys a good reputation and there is a leisure centre at the site including a swimming pool, for public use.
Villagers in Billingshurst live in a charming environment, inhabiting houses and flats on roads such as Holders Close, Arun Road, Mill Way, Rowan Drive, Coombe Hill, Roman Way, Freshlands, Morris Drive, The Cedars, Turner Avenue, Natts Lane, Chestnut Road, Daux Road and Daux Way, St Gabriels Road, Nightingale Walk, Treetops, Dell Lane and Forge Way.
Transport links are efficient in Billingshurst. The village is located on the junction of the A272 and A29, giving excellent access to Haywards Heath, Pulborough, Petworth, Petersfield and Bognor Regis. Commuters can also travel to London and Crawley, and the other route to Chichester, by using Billingshurst Railway Station on Station Road. Car times are also decent, just 30 minutes to Chichester and Crawley, and 35 minutes for Haywards Heath, as appropriate.
I provide a great chimney sweeiping service at an even better price in Billingshurst!
